Asbestos FAQ's

What services does Sanctum Environmental provide?

Sanctum Environmental specializes in asbestos services, environmental remediation, and licensed renovation and rebuild work. We provide asbestos inspection, abatement, air monitoring, and regulatory compliance, as well as construction services including kitchen and bathroom renovations, flooring, cabinetry, basement finishing, and full project management.

How do I know if my property contains asbestos?

Asbestos is commonly found in buildings constructed before the 1980s and may be present in insulation, flooring, ceiling textures, pipe wrap, siding, and other materials. The only way to confirm asbestos is through professional inspection and material testing. If you suspect asbestos, it should not be disturbed until evaluated by trained professionals.

Is asbestos dangerous?

Asbestos becomes hazardous when materials are damaged or disturbed, releasing fibers into the air that can be inhaled. Long-term exposure has been linked to serious health conditions. Proper containment and removal by certified professionals is essential to protect occupants and workers.

Will my home or building need to be vacated during abatement?

This depends on the scope and location of the work. In some cases, limited containment allows occupants to remain outside the work area. For larger or more complex projects, temporary vacancy may be recommended for safety. We will clearly explain expectations before work begins.

Do you perform air testing after asbestos removal?

Yes. Air monitoring and clearance testing are performed to verify that asbestos fiber levels meet safety standards before the area is cleared for re-occupancy.

Are you licensed and certified?

Yes. Sanctum Environmental operates with trained and certified professionals and follows all applicable state and federal regulations. We are also a licensed general contractor holding Dwelling Contractor and Dwelling Contractor Qualifier permits in the State of Wisconsin.

How long does an asbestos project take?

Project timelines vary depending on the size, material type, and scope of work. Smaller residential projects may take a few days, while larger commercial projects may take longer. We provide clear timelines during the planning phase.
